Hi, i'am new to the forum, can someone help me with my water conditions, it is a bit brown, but clear, have some filters and a uv, about 2000L pond. algea is going down, so thats good and would like to know what salt can i use and where to buy, i see some people talk about non-iodised salt(what is that?)

salt needs to be non-iodised, can be bought at any hardware, pool or koi shop, have a look here on how much to add:

For 2000l you would need 4kg, and to start up 6kg

Hi

A sligh brown tint to water is usually due to a lack of water changes. Some foods also add a brownish tint to the water. A pond needs 10% of its water changed out weekly or you get what you describe above.

Why do you want to use salt if i may ask? Normally salt is only used as a medicine and not kept in the pond at all times.
