PostSubject: Koi for Sale in Randburg   Koi for Sale in Randburg Icon_minitimeSun Jan 03, 2010 7:43 pm

Hi,

My Koi are growing and growing.

The 6 babies I added from Costa at Sakura last year are growing exceptionally well and their body shape and colours are coming along nicely.

Costa brought a doitsu Ochiba shigure from Japan for me this year and I need to make space as I want to take delivery of it soon. He also had some very nice goshiki's that I may buy and grow on for a few years (if there are any left).

Can't keep all of the koi as they are growing so well (even my older koi seem to have grown these last two years or so) I am becoming overstocked and I only have 45,000 litres in the pond.

I have to move on to a good home the following koi. I would like offers of a few hundred rand a fish please.

1 x Sanke = about 45 -50cm
1 x Showa = about 60cm
1 x beni goi = about 65cm
1 x bling koi (as William at Happy Koi calls them) = about 40cm
1 x ginrin Kohaku = about 35 - 40cm (may change my mind on this one)

Regards,
Chris

Can't email me as my computers were struck by lightning in the middle of December and will only be rebuilt tomorrow when everything opens again. Using a borrowed laptop.

Hi,

Three of the koi went to a good home on Tuesday -

Koi for Sale in Randburg DSC00646

Now I learned something on Tuesday. When Neville was viewing my koi he wore sunglasses. I asked him about this and he gave me the glasses he was wearing. WOW. It was like viewing my koi in a show vat of crystal clear shallow water - you could see everything clearly.

Reflection on a pond surface is one of the most distracting things when viewing koi.

These sunglasses were Polarised lenses of good quality used for bass fishing. They completely eliminated the reflection. It was amazing.

I rushed out and bought a set. I will never view koi again without them. I have also ordered a Ploarised lens cap that I can use on my camera. I cannot believe the difference it makes when photographing a pond.

Anyone else use them or have tried them.

Kind regards,
Chris

Hi Chris
Would love to see pictures of your pond, filtration and Koi. I am not a stats man, but you must be one of the first Koi Keepers in the county?

Hi,

The "lens" is called a Digital UV Filter:

Ultra-violet ray, although invisible to the human eye, gives bluish mist in color photography. The UV filter eliminates ultra-violet ray effrxtively.
No exposure compensation is necessary. Can be used at all times for protection of the camera lens.

Cost between R 100 - R 130

Pieter -
Is there a difference between a Polarised lens and a Digital UV filter?

Chris

Yes, there is Chris

A Polarised lens looks the same as the lens of sun glasses.

Koi for Sale in Randburg IMG_7026

A good test is take the Polarised lens and look true it at a cell phone screen if you can see every thing on the screen turn it clock wise 90 deg if it is a Polarised lens you will not be able to see any thing on the screen.

A Digital UV filter looks like normal glasses.

Thanks Collin,

Both filters are basically doing the same function. The only difference is the prize. The “darker” filter will cost between R 350 - R 469 depending on the lens size.

Hi,

Net om julle op hoogte te bring:

"The polarizing fiter is used to increase color saturation, darken blue skies so white clouds stand out, and eliminate refections from nonmetallic surfaces like glass or water.
It will also reduce the softness in scenery caused by atmospheric haze.
The filter will not change the overall color balance of the photograph."

Shite, Pieter groot woorde

Bobby,

Hoop die sal help. Kyk na die weerskaatsing in die gemerkte blokkie.

Koi for Sale in Randburg UVMark
FOTO GENEEM MET 'N UV FILTER

Koi for Sale in Randburg PLMark
