I see the guys in the cape love to use diffuser drains. Are they maintenance free, or do have the same problems as a normal air stone? How do you clean them, and how often?

Hi Marius

No issues to clean you only have to maintain the airpump by replacing worn dia- frames and flapper valves on air-pump. (you buy a replacing kit)

It's only a tube or 20mm pipe that runs from airpump to BD, this is why this is a gadget is great for an LG. Maruis one can never have enough air in the water especially in the summer with high temps.

The circulation of air also help to move the muck to the BD.

Some experts say the bubbles make a noise in the water that makes the Koi uncomfortable? My Koi do not want to answer the question about bubble noise. lol!

I better get back to my Birthday bash or face very negative music.
