| I bought my first 10 fish about a year ago. I just bought fish I thought was pretty. They have certainly changed a lot the past year. The last month I have started reading about the different varieties as I would like to know what it is I have. Is it as simple as matching your koi to a description found on the web? If someone for ex. wants to sell a Kohaku, was it the owner who decided it is a Kohaku or is there a governing body who looks at your fish and can tell you what you have? Sorry, might be a blond question but I am totally new at this.. |

| Thanks for the offer Jaco. I have never taken photos of koi before. Will be a new experience. I will try taking it in the pond. If I do not come right I will buy a net and put them in a bucket.. Does this mean that identifying koi varieties comes with experience and when sold the price is determined by the owner and the buyer has to rely on their own experience to know whether the prise is reasonable or a rip-off? |

| 11 might be a Platinum Ogon as it appears to be metallic on the photo? Shiro Muji is a non metallic white fish.
