From Johan Jacobs:
2008 SAKKS Western Cape Koi Show
We are proud to announce that the 2008 SAKKS Western Cape Koi Show will be held at the
Cape Garden Centre, one of the largest of its kind in Cape Town, from 8 10 August 2008. This
will be the first time in a couple of years that the show is moving away from the center of Cape
Town. This exciting new association with the Cape Garden Center provides over 800 square
meters of prime space with under cover area for the show vats, shade netted area for all the
exhibitor stands, on site wine emporium, art studio,
restaurant, reptile center, jumping castles, quad bikes,
loads of activities for the children and a paintball
range down the road. Dedicated parking for all the
show entrants, dealers and visitors will be available
and there is a possibility to take up another 600 square
meters in coming years should the Cape show grow to
the proportions we envisage.
This years show offers sponsors a unique opportunity
to promote their name and products, market and sell
their products to the public in general and to those
who have any interest in koi, ponds and water features
and gardens and landscaping. The Cape Garden
Center Management is very excited about hosting the
show and has thrown their full support behind the
advertising and marketing of the show, with the
intention of drawing people to the Centre and visiting
the show.
We are anticipating a high number of visitors and entrants and plan to be promoting it by way of
street posters, posters at the various koi outlets, leaflets, magazine, press and radio coverage. The
Cape Garden Center Management team has significant expertise and resources to assist in
ensuring that the show is promoted and advertised to gain the best exposure possible.
There will be a team of top Judges invited for this years show including some trainee judges to
assist with benching during the show. The show will have approximately 30 show vats with the
cream of the Western Capes koi on show.
The perimeter of the show area will house a variety of dealers and product vendors. We plan to
have other stands featuring bonsai, koi keeping and pond building and signage will be erected to
direct people to the show site from whatever entrance they may arrive at.
