Western Cape SAKKS Annual Koi Show 2009

Date : 23 - 24 May 2009
Where : Willowbridge mall, Tygervalley
Cost : R 10 for Adults and R 5 for children.

We are proud to announce that the 2009 SAKKS Western Cape Koi
Show will be held at the Willowbridge Mall in Bellville, Cape Town
from 22 – 24 May 2009.

Building on the great success from the 2008 show that was held at
the Cape Garden Center, this new venue provides over 2500
square meters of prime space. With the erection of six exhibitor
marquee tents and a separate judges & prize giving marquee, the
2009 show is going to be bigger than any previous Western Cape
Koi Show.

For the first time in many years, the Western Cape show vats will
be in the open air and not under cover which makes it easier for
the judges to properly see and judge the koi.
In addition to the covered exhibitor and dealer stands, there will
also be place for dealers that want an open area to exhibit their
goods, providing their own cover if needed.

The Willow Bridge mall has many attractions and with Tygervalley
shopping center very close by, this event is guaranteed to draw
more visitors than our previous shows.
The SAKKS Western Cape chapter show will be applying the same
standards and policies as set forth and decided upon by the main
SAKKS governing body. To this extent, we will be applying the
same show rules and regulations, sizes and show policies as used in
Johannesburg and Durban.

We are planning extensive marketing and advertising campaign for
the show and want to welcome all dealers and exhibitors to the
2009 SAKKS Western Cape Koi Show.

Wednesday 20 May
08:00 – 18:00 Show setup

Thursday 21 May
08:00 – 18:00 Show Setup completed

Friday 22 May
09:00 – 16:00 Benching of Koi
09:00 – 18:00 Judges Arrival
(Benching closes strictly at 16h00 and no further koi will be
accepted after this)

Saturday 23 May
09:00 – 09:30 Judges Briefing
09:30 – 13:00 Judging of Koi
13:00 – 14:00 Lunch
14:00 – 15:00 Judging of Koi
16:00 – 18:00 Winners photos and owners names onto ponds
19:00 onwards Spitbraai Dinner

Sunday 24 May
10:30 – 12:00 Talk by judges on the Champion Koi
13:00 – 14:00 Awards Ceremony
15:00 – onwards Debenching starts (No debenching or any dealer stand break up may happen before 15h00)
16h00 Show closes

Nicely put together, SAKKS Gauteng could take some tips from you! Members should be advised like this regarding Koi Shows.

Pieter although i would like to take the honour, the section i posted here is part of the western cape prospectus which was put together by Johan Jacobs, i am mearly spreading the word with it. I am part of the comitee, think its called a show comitee and things look like the westerncape members are getting their act together again...although we could still do with some help and sponsorship. Our treasure coffen is a bit empty but we are trying our best.

Thanks Paul, all Koi lovers must attend this Western Cape Koi Show, I spend some time today with Show Set-Up and I promise you, its going to be impressive. After one day and the Koi site already looks like a mini Durban Koi Show.
A small but important change to the entrance fee, the poster should read R 10.00 for adults and R 5.00 for Children.

There will also be a fun park for the children.

Just want to mention that the koi show is up and the water is in already!!! Its really looking good. 36 Vats in total. We are basically done!!! wow! Only the air lines still need to be done tomorrow.

The koi show is looking amazing there are tents and fencing and banners...looks very simular to the national show.

Watch out Durban!!!
