Ponds in place with their splash protectors. Light have been replaced with day-light bulbs to keep the judges happy. Filling started last night.

Really looks stunning. Thanks for posting.

I will be flying to Joburg tomorrow morning with my latest imports (very nice fish) and I am quite excited to have a dealer stand there.

Word of thanks to Billy from Pro Koi who has been setting up my ponds and provides oxygene etc.

Have persuaded a few friends from Cape Town to also fly up for the event.

Will post photos soon.

PostSubject: Many thanks to all   Tue Mar 31, 2009 9:09 am

A big thank you to all our visitors for your support. It was really great to meet our online clients and forum members as well as the Gauteng dealers.

Special thanks to Billy and his team for setting up our ponds and sorting out the water quality for the koi.

Many thanks to Collin and Lee-Anne and the rest of Orient's team for the use of their oxygen to bag our fish and keeping an eye on our ponds when we were taking a break.

And to SAKKS for making us feel so welcome.

Also from me a great thanks to everybody. Billy, Colin, Lee-Anne, the whole SAKKS and all our Gauteng clients who supported us so well.

Also a special thanks to Chris Neaves who added Sodium Thiosulphate to our ponds to sort out the Chlorine, and ChlorAm-Ex (to bind ammonia and chlorine) and to ensure that our aeration is sufficient, without even asking him to do so. He worked non stop without compensation to ensure that everything ran smoothly.

The quality of fish on show were very good as far as I am concerned and I believe that it was a great success.

Most of the dealers indicated that the sales were extremely poor compared to the previous shows held at Cresta.

However, we are extremely happy with the outcome of the show. We took 140 Japanese fish and sold approximately 100. The 40 left were grabbed up by dealers and we came back to Cape Town with no fish and a lot of orders.

It was also extremely nice to see how many of our fish sold to clients in Gauteng the past three years won first prices and we are pleased that some of the judges also bought our fish.

Some of the leftovers that were grabbed up by dealers the last day:

I will be back next year.

Paul - Thank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure having you guys. I believe SAKKS will be contacting you for feed back.

I must tell you I SURVIVED ............... no, no not the koi show ............. Friday was our 38th wedding anniversary and I spent the evening tending to the water quality at the show.

I am still alive and have all the bits and pieces of my body in the correct order and place where they should be .....

Regards,
Chris
