PostSubject: Pond skimmer question   Thu Aug 13, 2009 9:30 am

I have a pool skimmer which I want to use in my pond, now I want to add it to my return pipe. Now currently my return pipe is about a foot and a half above water level and this breaks my surface which obviously helps with aeration etc.

Now if I connect my return to the pool skimmer, which means this return flow will be below water level, not breaking the surface of the pond water will I still get the same aeration from this return as I did when it was breaking the surface??

thanks

Why would you add a skimmer to a return pipe?

Surely it should be on a suction pipe if anything?
