Repairing rock art/ change waterfall Empty
PostSubject: Repairing rock art/ change waterfall   Repairing rock art/ change waterfall EmptySun Oct 05, 2008 2:09 pm

Hi everyone

My rock art was redone more than 2 years ago. The guys came back a number of times, but there was always a problem with paint peeling off. Some areas now look terrible, other areas are fine. I can't redo the whole rock art now, but I want to patch up.
Should I use plaster key to seal, after sandpapering it, and then try and paint?
I attach some photos
The part where it still looks nice

Ideas for the waterfall please
I also need ideas about my waterfall. Was thinking to add a "layer" halfway so that the water have two "steps". So that after the new level, the water comes down like a veil. Any ideas on what I can use? It should not be too heavy, because it might be too hard to get it fixed.

Thanks. Hope I get a few ideas

Albie

Hi Dok,

hoop dit gaan goed met die Koi?

Jy kan die ouens van Hydro SEAL " Multi Purpose Sealants" kontak, ek dink hulle Hydro Dekor sal jou "verf werk" kan herstel. Skakel vir Danny Williams by 083 274 4082.

Groete

Just a follow up on this post and some new questions.

I fixed the wall with the Hydro Seal as Pieter suggested and painted. Still looking fine.

I have added the extra step in my waterfall and it actually looks very nice. I need some ideas to build some "containers" on that "step", out of the way of the strong flow to plant some plants. Perhaps even against the top part of the wall. It will need to have a hole in the bottom for water to flow through.

Any ideas? Perhaps print, draw and scan.

What plants can I use? (waterfall faces south). Does one need to put soil in or just some gravel?

On the 'step' I thought to build two "walls" on both sides of the stream. I will take that container away.

Waterfall switched off to check my water level

This is what I really like:

Another follow up. The top 2 containers as well as the other ones, I have planted "peace in the home" to hang over the edges.

I have not been able to cover the pipes adequately yet

As it looks now:

Any ideas to make it look less artificial?

Smeer gewone / ongegeurde jogurt aan waar dinge nie meer so goed lyk nie. Dit sal kort voor lank met mos oortrek wees. Minder kunstig ens.
