Ok, here we go.

Kohaku Kohaku3Kohaku Kohaku2

The overall fish appearance is stunning according to me....but.....Not sure if you can see, there is a mark on the red next to the dorsal fin...any idea what that is....its been there for i think about 2 months already. Will they allow this fish into a koi show with that mark?

Brilliant skin quality, you are obviously doing something right.
I have found some koi tend to develop wart like growths resembling carp pox during the Winter months but it soon disappears as the water heats up in Summer.

Just to bad that i do not know the bloodline. This was my first kohaku i purchased when i started the hobby.

In my opion back them R100 for a fish was very expensive. I picked it out the Platinum Koi cheapies using the living Jewels book. It took my 45 minutes to pick. The Living Jewels book said...a kohaku must a white nose and that is where i started....i did not even now that the author Servaas was standing 2meters away from me.

Hi Paul, i paid for my vat but have not given them the application form yet - there is no way that i could know 5 weeks before hand what fish i was planning to enter.

I must say, that August is not the best time of year in the cape to have a Koi show. The fish are coming out of winter have no immune system and they are not looking the best.

Yes, i am planning to enter it - if they will allow it in with the ward on its back. Unfortuantly the once that i wanted to show are ingured...so maybe next year. This will be my first time that i will be entering a koi show and will basically be feeling the water.

I prefer this coulour of Beni on Kohaku.
The blood red ones are too strong for me.
