Letter from the National Chairman of SAKKS(South African Koi Keepers Society), Kevin Till, dated 26 September 2008

Dear Forum members,

It has recently come to my attention as new National Chairman to SAKKS that there is a degree of unhappiness among some of the members on a few issues and I feel it my duty to keep open communications in all areas of Koi.

I want to assure all SAKKS members that I am here for the interest of our Koi hobby and to make a difference, I am currently looking into various matters and where necessary getting our house in order. As you all know to do a thing properly takes a little time so please feel free to call me and discuss any matter of concern and it will be addressed, I cannot attend to an issue if I am not personally made aware.

For those members that I have not had the pleasure to meet at shows yet and you would like to get to know me and my motives as chairman please feel free to call me and you will soon realize that I too have a passion for Koi just like you and have no hidden agenda.

If you choose not to phone me please phone any chapter chairman or member that has met me and feel free to ask questions to your hearts content.

Every single SAKKS chapter and SAKKS member is very important to me, there is no chapter more important than another and before you judge me to quickly take time to look at the changes we are making, KOISA magazine, KOISA website, Koi Indaba, SAKTA dealer’s relationship etc. once again this takes time.

As chairman I am merely the custodian of a society that belongs to you as a member, the national committee, sub committee, chapter chairmen and judges committee are committed to improving weak areas and creating a society that works for you. Internationally we have an ever growing professional relationship and many international judges aspire to judging in South Africa and bring their families to experience our culture.

I formerly assure you of my best interest for SAKKS but I / we cannot do this without your support and all I ask of you is if you hear of “finger pointing professionals” please ask them not to collude behind the scenes but rather to give me a direct call and let us deal with the issue in a decent and civil manner.

As South Africans we have the tenacity and the reputation worldwide to make things work for our futures let us yet again stand together and make this a great society.

Yours in Koi

Kevin Till

Dear Kevin

Welcome to the forum. I would like to let you know that we are behind you all the way.
