PostSubject: cover pond for winter   cover pond for winter Icon_minitimeTue Oct 23, 2012 11:33 pm

When should i cover the pond? The day time temp outside is 13 degrees C & the night time is 8 degrees C the fish are still eating once daily. I have a polycarbonate cover for the pond 25mm thick which will be sitting 100mm above the water level if will be easliy accessible in just 2 minutes for water tests or cleaning and feeding as long as the fish will eat. The pond is unheated. Can someone advise me. Question

Bit difficult to help with this one, because I don't think any body in South Africa cover their ponds in winter. It does get very cold over here but not that cold. I think most of us just stop feeding when the water temperature goes below 10 degrees Celsius. No
