Subject: What varnish to use? Mon Sep 03, 2012 9:45 pm
Hi I want to close my filtration system with a wooden deck, but I'm unsure of what varnish to use. The deck will not be in direct contact with the water. Any suggestions?

I suppose it is not crucial to use a non toxic varnish because it is not going to be exposed to the water, but if you want to have peace of mind, use Nova 17, a non toxic varnish.

A varnish would not be the right thing to use.
You can use V Cote (hope I have the name right) made by Van Acht, they use it on their window and door frames. It penetrates the wood.
