Hi, in my opinion it has way too much Hi. Still looks small, how big is it? Also its nose is a bit too pointy, but that could possibly get better with age. Iv seen before and after photos of koi that started with pointy noses that got better, but I have a kohaku that's nose got pointier, so its difficult to know, I think it depends on the sex of the koi. I see it has allot of sumi in its left pec, but can't see if it has any underlying sumi on the head, might still turn into a Hi showa, not easy to see, give it time.

I think it has a good chance of turning into a stunner.

definatly potential to become something but really still to early to tell.

I can see it has some white on the right side of its head, from the pictures I cant see how far the hi wraps down on the other side. If its doesnt wrap down too far on that side it might turn out quite nice, because as the koi grows the hi will move up and it might even move up away from its nose. Its still very small so could change allot still.

Hi Kobus.
There is nothing wrong with the nose of this fish, it might look pointy but it's because this fish is still small and hopefully young. Not really going to grow into a show fish but will make a lovely pond fish. My guess is that this fish come from a Sanke/Showa spawning and might turn Showa from what I can see. Motoguru on the left pectorial fin and bits of deep underlying sumi on the head over and under eyes and gill plates. Also the underlying sumi on the body and the placement of it. You might see some more white on the nose on the right hand side where its already breaking a bit. So my conclusion would be that if this fish see 5 years in your pond (because it's one of your starter fish), it might turn into traditional Showa with only a bit of white. Just my opinion but I might be wrong. Embarassed

Hi Kobus. sorry the comment I made about its nose being abit too pointy was made after viewing the pictures on my phone and i also didnt realize it was still so small. Looking at the pictures again its nose is right for a koi that size. What i enjoy so much about koi is you can buy a small koi and have certain expectations about how it will turn out, but you can never be sure. Sometimes a koi can surprise you and exceed your expectations, then others can turn out to be a disappointment, it keeps things interesting.
