Problem with my fish-carasius Empty
PostSubject: Problem with my fish-carasius   Problem with my fish-carasius EmptyTue May 17, 2011 8:52 pm

Hi, I have problem with my fish-carasius

When I cleaned the pond this spring, I caught a fish and it has have this big wound and last year it was very small. During the winter seems to have grown.

I do not know what it is,
like as a wild meat that grows,
looks ugly and is there a solution for this?

while I struggled with the fish to the photographing, the wound started to bleed and now look me like a part fell off.

What you suggest to do?

If it is more severe during winter, it is probably a papilloma that caused a tumour. Papilloma is a virus like carp pox and not a lot you can do. I would cut the growth away and clean with hydrogen peroxide and keep the wound clean with frairs balsem or alike to prevent infection.

Alternatively just leave it. Fish can survive for years with papilloma and tumours.

As I remember last year with the spring he have a small wound, and in autumn was almost not noticeable. And this winter has really grown.

I was thinking to cut off the growth, but I have not anything to close the wound like frairs balsem.
I was try many things but waste in the water after 5 min.

I've tried them with antibiotic ointments, with clay, dried with hair dryer but all waste.
