My new Showa from Costa, 53 cm Dianichi. The Kohaku is Sensuke, 65 cm.

Absolutly Paul, Costa is keeping it in his big pond until my QT pond is 100% ok. I was very impressed with the size and the quality of the Koi. The photos that they posted did the Koi no justice. I am very disapointed I did not go up sooner as most of the koi were already sold.

Hi,

Ek is jammer om te se maar ek hou glad nie van die Showa nie. Daar is te min Shiroji (wit) op die kop, die Hi "blets" op die Shiroji oor die skof hou ek ook nie van nie.
Ek hou ook nie van die Sumi (swart) op die regterkantse "pectoral leading ray" nie.
Die Koi mag miskien as 'n goeie teel vis gebruik word, maar met Showa kan 'n mens jou lelik misgis!

Die Kohaku is nie sleg nie die Shiroji is baie mooi en die Hi (rooi) is sterk. Die Hi kon ook miskien meer oor die gesig gewees het en nie aan die een oog geraak het nie.
Is dit 'n mannetjie?

As ek moet kies, sal ek beslis die Kohaku kies. Die shiroji is fantasties.

Dit is so moeilik om 'n Showa te kies. Ek dink Pieter het 'n paar geldige argumente. Daar is weer ander aspekte van die showa wat besonders is.

Een van die dinge wat my die meeste pla is die sumi in die pektorale fin. Met showa en Utsuri moet die sumi nie aan die "leading ray" raak nie.

Hier is 'n kort opsomming van waarna mens onder andere behoort te kyk.

Hi,

Ek het nou net 'n sms van Costa ontvang; Costa bevestig dat die Kohaku wel 'n wyfie is, maar wat my meer beindruk is dat die Koi net 2 jaar oud is!

65cm in 24 maande...............WoW!!!
