PostSubject: Koi hobbyist   Wed Dec 08, 2010 8:00 pm

One of the words used on this forum on a regular basis is "Koi hobbyist" It is used by the members using the Afrikaans and English language.

For a moment I thought, what is "koi hobbyist" in Afrikaans? Matriculated in Bloemfontein and grew up very Afrikaans, I should know that, but no.

I bet that almost no Afrikaans speaking person (or English speaking member for that matter) on this forum can answer this question without referring to a dictionary.

I bet that if I use the Afrikaans version, members will think, what the heck is that. Twisted Evil

No Carl, knutselaar = hobbyist

So you could also get a "koi kitchi knutselaar" (koi crazy hobbyist) lol!
