PostSubject: 3rd Annual Eastern Cape Koi Show   Sun Aug 29, 2010 6:24 pm

Hi all
I am sorry that I am only giving a report of our koi show now but I struggled to register to do so. According to our standards our show was a great success. We had 269 koi on show in 21 vats with about 2200 visitors, in comparison with 169 koi, 16vats and 1400 visitors last year. On the Sunday we had very strong winds which I think dampered our amount of visitors. It seems that a record was broken as only three judges had to judge all the koi. Leon Krull of Wild Coast Koi's 85cm Showa won the Grand Supreme Championship. I am also sorry that I am unabe to place photos as I tried to register to Photobucket but was unsuccessful.
One of the first time enterants was late to bring his koi in for benching so I phoned him and he told me he was battling to photograph his koi. I could not understand why it was so difficult to take photos of koi. When he arrived all excited he told us that he lifted the koi out the pond with a net and put the koi on the grass but the koi would not lay still so that he could take the photo. So he and his wife tried their best to get a good snap. He also remembered me telling him to take two photos of each koi so when he took a photo of the one side of the koi he turned the koi over and took another photo of the other side of the flippin koi.
We laught so much that we were no longer mad at him for coming late.
I just want to thank Neville, Frans and all who support us in what ever way. Thank you.

Roy
