Hi all
The Amalinda Fish Farm open day took place last month. The weather was fine and a few people attended. Unfortunately the game reserve had a fire and most of the grass was burnt. Not to stress the animals any further they decided not to have the hike in the game reserve. The dam drag got everyone excited to see what would come out of the dam. As usual there were crabs and a few platanna’s. Beautiful pond koi came out of the pond.
I bought a Kohaku which I believe has good potential and also a beautiful Shiro and Aka Utsuri. They both are in their developing stage and I think in three years time they will look stunning.
Amalinda has got good facilities to farm koi and I think that with David and Yapi in control they can develop the farm to its original glory.
Just as every year we are looking again how to put our koi show together which is taking place on the weekend of the 14th and15th of August. We dont have a big sponsor as the other chapters have and do things that border to miracles. But when the going gets tough the tough gets going.
We are still seeing ponds being enlarged and a few new ones being built which is an indication that local koi keepers are inspiring others. If you are able to help us in any way to get the show on the go please contact me.
