Last week Sunday i moved one of my 45cm+ kois to qt due to a wound that it got from something that looks like it got it from a bird beak.

In anycase..Friday morning i discovered that this female koi decided to dump all her eggs in my qt (2m show vat). I did not know that a female koi can dump her eggs without the help of a male.

I have done 3 big 50%-80% water changes to the qt pond so far but the fresh water does not stay fresh for longer than a day. There was no spawning material in the vat and all the unfertilized eggs are lying on the pond floor.

I have tonight tried for the first time to get the eggs out but its not that easy as i thought it would be.

There are also a few smaller 10cm sized koi in the qt vat aswell so i cant re-house the kois at the momment.

Are there anyone with advice?

Have you tried to Airlift the eggs out,if not make one out of a lenth of electrical condute shape it in very hot water like a walking stick,elastic band a silk stocking on the bend to catch the eggs. cable tie 6mm tubing from airpump to the other end - keep the bottom end close to the bottom so you dont accidentaly suck up one of the smaller koi's.The total length must be as such that the top of the bend is on the water line.
Have a look at the wife's washing machine discharge outlet maybe you could use that.

The sucking technique described should work or you can even use an irrigation pipe and drain it out with gravitation. The ideal would be a pond vacuum. If you are desperate, you can use mine.

Treat the QT facility with either Malachite green or Acriflvine to prevent fungus developing.
