| Many in Cape Town know I am a dabbler in all things koi, I raise show quality fish, I breed a little, I sell a little etc. Last season myself and "Soutie" or Jonathan Sawyer, bred our fish, sanke cross with kohaku. he has a couple of not too bad kohakus - all I had was a Sanke that wasnt growing and looked like nothing - I took a chance and put it in my main pond 24000l in November at around 16cm - now it is around 27cm and improves every day - I have a good feeling about this one.   |

| Currently looks good quinton, just two quick questions.
Dont you think that the koi has a little bit too much sumi for its current size?
It appears as if the tosai has some sumi below the laterline on its right (our left)and it has some sumi on its head. How is that going to affect its development as sanke if at all? |

| Wayne, definately sanke. I have found that good sumi at a young age dissapears quite a bit when around the 20-30cm mark only to come back later as a 23cm  as a 35cm  |
