Well here is no 7, At last he is showing some growth now but his color is not so nice currently.

He is now 33Cm

Mambo#5 today 40 cm.

Looking good Jan...i might be out of the race.

After the cape show mine got a fungus growth on its one side and i am really battling to get it off. It looks like she got bumped on the side during the netting at the show and that helped the fungus to take hold but Its weird there is no wound the fungus is just growing on the scales and its slightly red in those areas. I made the fault of removing the fungus with medical alcohol but i cleaned a bigger area than that was affected....so i removed more of her mucus...and the fungus spread to those areas aswell.

Shimi is swimming in a 600l Qt fish tank in my garage with a mixture of methylene blue and salt. She has lost quite a bit of body due to me not feeding that much. Her colour is also faded cause i keep her in the garage where there is no sunlight (to combat the fungus that needs light) Once the warmer weather arrives i am sure she will recover quickly but ill have to see if i can condition her back to the way she was by end of Feb.

Well you are not out yet, lets hold thumbs for you. Wayne I picked up some saprolegnia on a kohaku and I then took a swab and the results that came back suggested F10 as one of the things that will help. Pieter Odendaal likes Acriflavine as well.

F10 will come of shortly after you replace the fish into the pond but it does its job in one minute, as per my vet friend.

Best of luck. My no 7 looks like it is also starting to stretch a bit.

Neville if you want to keep the F10 on a bit longer add propolis, very sticky and very good for treatments

My son came home with it 2 years ago and told me iy is so good for wound on cattle he was working for Karran beef then. When I read the label well surprise surprise then spoke to my vet and he said yes sure use it on your fish it is good stuff. But again it is cheap and no body believes in cheap medication it has to cost a lot of money then it is good.

Neville, I am not sure which medicine you are referring too, but Propolis is not cheap at R390.00 for a 200ml bottle delivered. I have just paid for 2 bottles from the Propolis people in Beaconsfield as this is extremely good stuff and can also be used over the Koi food mixed with pure honey to help with the bitterness of the propolis.

I also use this for myself to cure bumps and cuts, but sadly it cannot bring the youth back.

Jaaa Bobby that one they still have to invent. Oh well i am happy with my age it came with dignity so it is fine.
