Hi,

I am shutting down my pond and need to get rid of my koi (and a few large goldfish) rather urgently. My mechanical and biological filtration has failed, and I am not going to be replacing them. Fortunately these have been bypassed and I can still run water around the pond, which despite going rapidly green still has fairly good water quality.

So, I have 8 koi and 3 goldfish that I need to get rid of. They are about 5 years old and were grown from fingerlings but would probably be suited to the "not so fussy" koi keeper as they are probably not show quality.

The person who takes them must be willing and able to transport them as I don't have proper equipment for that.

PM me if you're interested and I'll send you my details.

Regards
Craig

I just advertised in Gumtree a year ago, and they went within a day. When people here free koi, they just think big bucks

Hi,

Yes well I can imagine the skepticism that people might have when it comes to free koi. With diseases and all free could equal problems, not that paying for koi frees you from that problem unless you know the supplier...

The reason that I didn't want to put them on Gumtree or Freecycle was that I wanted to be sure that they were going to someone that would care for them and make sure that they continue to live long healthy lives. While I need to get rid of them (mostly from a time and cost point of view) that doesn't mean that they should suffer and I want to make sure of that.

But all that said, I did manage to find a few people locally that are willing to take them and I can be sure that they're going to good homes.

Cheers
Craig

Was perhaps a bit hasty in my comment- I suddenly thought about myself if they are relatively good quality...But now they are gone
