Much better quality than the previous lot.
I also love the Purachina, just a bit skinny.

I was waiting to see how the experts evaluate the body shape seeing I am of the opinion that your collection is generally speaking very skinny. What are you feeding and how many times per day? Could be that the photos are misleading!

well was so depressed after my last fish post that I went and sold 80% of my fish this morning and went and bough all of these today. So if any are skinny it's not from me. If anything I overfeed. I feed shogun and now and then I mix shogun, clay, honey, garlic into doughy balls which I feed once a week. Also feed bloodWorm and frozen shrimp once a week.

Ill take a pic in 2 weeks again 2 compare.

Did my fish in my other post look skinny?

Then your new Koi has something to look forward too, first take it slowly with the feeding in the beginning, give them time to adapt.

Building a Koi collection takes time, you will see as we all grow in the hobby we all aspire to better quality Koi, unfortunately they all come with a price tag.
For one person the ultimate is R2k the next R10k some purist R60k and for some this means R 400k. A very well known keeper said as long as the price and quality is relevant. At the end of the day it is the pleasure and enjoyment we get from our purchases that we are comfortable with.

Here is a Kohaku with a 4Mil yen price tag and even this Koi needs another year in a mud pond at this price.

Marius, we are now hijacking Cliff's post, the cost of the Kohaku is without commission and airfreight. Landing cost will be about R 400,000.00, how many shall I order for you. Shocked

lol......was just about to say, been clicking on this hoping to hear i may have one or two with potential........at least all my posts get decent hits.

Have another 2 Sanke's that I gave up on trying to catch, will be posting those pics tonight or tomorrow night.

THe metallic sanke and the one I still have to post was told could be very very nice fish.......may even be able to show them, just want to know if it was a sales pitch or do you find it has potential, will post the other sanke asap.

Must say I am loving this purachina.....the white is so beautiful on it. And love the big fins, think it is so lovely to look at.

I kept the kohaku, the No1 (think he's nice, just different which I like) and also kept the beni komanryo.

Other than that I got rid of about 12 fish.

Will catch the rest and post when my back heals........lol
