PostSubject: Setting up a portable quarantine pond   Sat Jul 04, 2009 10:12 am

Hi,

I just got my temporary pond from the friendly taupaulin makers in Natal.

I need to setup the temp pond and move my fish out immediately.

Should I move the water from my pond to the temp pond?

What filtration will suffice while they are in there? Submersible pump and biofilter with UV enough? Can I just move media from my other bio filter outside into the new one?

HOw long does the new pond need to run if I had moved the media and water before moving the fish?

Thanks,
Cameron

The best is to pump the water from your "matured" pond to the temporary pond. Then you can move the fish. No need to first run it for a while. Transfer the biomedia together with the fish.
