Excellent, the allignment of the scales is very good, the body shape and position and shape of the tancho circle perfect. Would not mind having this in my pond.

Sal dit 'n goeie vis wees om mee te teel? Indien wel, met wat byvoorbeeld? Hoe oud is hy/sy?

Hi, It was just general questions:
Would this be good breeding stock?
What age is this fish?

To Carel:

Thanks for your reply!

The fish in the picture is 2 years old when we took the picture.

Would not recommend using any Tancho as breeding stock. Because Tancho Ochiba is just a normal Ochiba with a circle on it's head. No pattern on the body, which not not good for breeding.

By the way, do you breed koi in SA?

It is a Tancho Oyo! Oyo (Japanese word which means 'yellow leaves' when leaves turn color in autumn) came out from a cross between Goshiki and Ochiba-sigure.
Oyo carries a hue of color very similar to that of Ochiba-sigure, but in more light orange-yellow color. This is a new variety yet, and the biggest now are only Sansais (3yr-old), when this variety becomes more popular and become available in bigger sizes, they would be a bright addition to your pond.
