http://www.aquariumproducts.com.au/catalogue_products.php?prodID=3613&catID=79

I've ended up buying a pool pump, sand filter, bio booster and UV light for my pond in the end. Didn't want to cos of the sound it would generate outside my sons room but I'm just going to place it further away.

So I bought this filter last week from a friend, it's 8 months old and in excellent condition, think these go for well over R3k brand new.

Click on the link above to check the specs out, suitable for a pond up 13000lts without fish and 6500lts with fish.

I want R1500 for it

I bought a .45 speck pump for R600, then bought a 3 bag sand filter, with a .75 pump (the one I'm selling as I wont need it due to having a .45 pump) with a bio booster 25l Ultra Zap Pressure filter with 15w UV all for R1500.

So All in all R2100, but have now a possible buyer for the .75kw pump at R500

This is the setup I bought for R1500

Where I will be replacing the pump above with this pump below which I paid R600 for

I would say keep the .75 pump, you going to battle to backwash and clean a 3 bag sand filter with the .45kw - this will eventually lead to bad things.

Also make sure you have koi filter sand in and have modified the fingers.

Have a look here Pieter has covered this in detail:

I was planning on filling the sand filter with zeolite........would this not make backwashing the 3 bag sand filter with a .45 easier???

Just that I expect the .45 to be alot quiter and with it being near to my sons room and all.

Would the zeolite with a .45 and 3bag silter not be OK???

Thanks for the "fingers" link....that will be a most helpful mod

Hi Cliff

Not sure about the pump on the 3 bag filter if you using zeolite but as far as sand goes i think it will battle to backwash.
