| Hi Bubbles It is not that simple to explain over the forum but some things we look at is: 1. Body Shape 2. Skin lustier 3. Skin quality 4. Pattern 5. Colure 6. Strength of the colure 7. Fins 8. Posture in the water 9. Variety standard 10. The wow 11. Imagine what the koi will look like when it is over 70cm. (Most difficult part of culling) In these 11 points there are several other points to look at as well. It is something you learn over time and lots of practise. I hope this answer your question. |

| Hi Wayne, Congrats with your latest spawning. Your most important culling category must surely be the no 8 "Swimming upright" then it's a go LG Did you send Danichi a photo of your Kohako's swimming upright ? _________________ Bobby Matthee Koi- The Art of Waterkeeping

| Thanks Bobby, whats the story with "swimming upright" Huh? Collin, thanks for the guide lines...my spawning was more to prevent my female from getting egg bound but i guess il have a look at what comes from the spawning. I guess i will have to start culling earlier as i wont be able to grow all the thousands of little ones on. |

| Hi Collin Are there some other good small ones that you are going to sell, or are they back in the dam? Want to buy a few small kohaku and watch them grow. Let me know if you are selling. Also looking for a small tancho kohaku- as money is alway an issue and the imported ones are expensive, I'll start small with hopefully good quality. Albie |
