| David, If it is bleeding, it is a sign that there is no build-up of fluid at the scale roots so there is no infection. Looking at the photo, it seems to be an injury from a bump or scrape. This area should be close to stop further implications. You can use one of the following on the area, Friars Balsam Propolis Terramycin spray or A salt paste |

| Thank’s pieter After the photo was taken I gave the koi a salt bath. I will check him tonight if any improvement. The mark's are on both sides of the koi. I have some terramycin powder can i mix with water and then apply to the area ? |

| David, No don't use the terramycin powder! Rather make a salt paste, apply with a soft brush ( the wife's make-up brush will do) let it dry for a bit before putting the fish back in the pond. |

| Hope that's a wet towel. _________________ Jaco Vorster

yup i second that. When a fish is taken out to be treated, the matt , towels etc must be totally wet/soaked. you dont want to take the slime coat off.
I have had alot of success using Cetrimide on wounds etc, basically dry and clean the affected area with cetrimide+iodine solution, apply cetrimide cream and then seal with sealer of your choice. I use Friars Balsam.
How are things going David? Any updates |

| The salt paste seems to be working. I treated on Tue last week and again on Sunday. Checked it last night with the wife and she said the koi is looking much better. Thanks Pieter for the advice and garlic does work zero parasites. also thanks david for you input. |
