Hi,

Can any one offer advice how to to fix a sandfilter lid?

During the coarse of last night my lid of my sand filter decided to spring a leak. It is held down by screws.

What appears to of happened is the threaded part in the housing of the filter has broken /split.

What I was thinking of doing is drilling a hole through the chamber anb using a brass bolt from the inside out and placing a wing nut on the top.

Has anyone experienced this kind of problem before?

I appreciate ...

I have a pool skimmer which I want to use in my pond, now I want to add it to my return pipe. Now currently my return pipe is about a foot and a half above water level and this breaks my surface which obviously helps with aeration etc.

Now if I connect my return to the pool skimmer, which means this return flow will be below water level, not breaking the surface of the pond water will I still get the same aeration from this return as I did when it was breaking the surface??

Hi - has anyone had any experience with the following apparatus on koi ponds.

Apparently this has been designed in Australia for use before sand filters on swimming pools. The claims are that it removes a massive amount of solids before the filters therefore saving the backwashing time.

If it works on sand filters it will work on any koi pond filter.

Also - and this is just speculation - it may be able to replace discharge boxes and settlement tanks. And it may - ...

Something novel for the koi pond - called the Koi Pearl. The fish swim into it and you can see them.

Some info can be found at - www.koi-pearl.com

You can get an idea of size if you go to the construction link lower down on the page and watch the video.
