I see there is a new product on the market called Tiger Turf by Van Dyck carpets.

Rather expensive at about R300 a square meter (R1225 for 4m width). Simple to install and when you dress it with sand you will achieve the correct drainage. They use it on cricket fields.

I have a dead spot of grass where I have mixed the cement for the ponds and nothing seems to grow there anymore. Maybe I will give it a try
